los alamos with shove or take

6 × 6 board · 5 kinds of piece

Chess on a six-by-six board without bishops, in which the knights, rooks and queens have two ways to use a capture. Landing on an enemy piece, one may take it as usual, or instead shove it one step further the way it was moving (a knight shoves a piece a whole knight's jump on), provided the square there is empty or off the board; a piece shoved off the edge is out, as if taken. A shove leaves the enemy piece alive but elsewhere, so it is the move to make when the piece is worth more where you send it than gone: tipped over the edge while the shover stands, pushed in front of a pawn, or out of its king's defence, or when a shove gives check that a capture would not. Pawns and the king only take.

Not measured yet, so it has no score. The score is how interesting a game looks when the computer plays it, out of 1.
