6 × 8 board · 6 kinds of piece

Each side owns a private one-way lift into the enemy's half. A White piece that ends its move on b3, in front of White's pawns, comes out one step beyond c5, in the direction it was travelling, capturing there as usual; Black's lift mirrors it, in at b6 and out beside c4. To the other side a lift is solid, and nobody moves one. The lifts interlock: each mouth sits beside the other's exit, so where your raiders leave is next to where the enemy's arrive, and a pawn can ride its lift on the first move into the enemy's third row. The armies are Los Alamos chess's (chess without bishops, castling or a pawn's double step, the first chess a computer played, in 1956), on a board six wide and eight tall whose side edges are joined, so a piece may reach a lift from either side and choose which side of the exit it comes out on.

Score 0.804 out of 1, the average of four runs, under scoring rules version 12, measured 19 October 2026. The score is how interesting a game looks when the computer plays it, out of 1.
