cannonade

6 × 6 board · 5 kinds of piece

A 6x6 army with one straight-line slider, two knights, and two diagonal cannons that can only capture by leaping a piece — friend or enemy — standing in their line. Captures are permanent and the material count decides the game when the clock runs out, so a single pawn is worth a whole attack: you must grab something and then survive, while the pieces you push forward become the very screens your opponent's cannons need. The recurring decision is whether to crowd the board, where cannons rule and one loose piece is fatal, or to strip it bare, where the cannons fall silent and whoever is a point ahead simply wins.

Score 0.729 out of 1, the average of four runs, under scoring rules version 12, measured 19 October 2026. The score is how interesting a game looks when the computer plays it, out of 1.
